Maintain a CTIA-Compliant Privacy Policy

Overview
To follow CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices, your SMS privacy policy must clearly explain how you handle mobile data. Specifically, it must state that SMS opt-in data won’t be shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

Here are three ways to stay compliant:

Option 1: Link to Text Groove’s Privacy Policy

The fastest option is to link directly to our policy: https://txgv.cc/privacy

What to do:

  • Add a link labeled SMS Privacy Policy to your website footer

  • Point it to the URL above

Option 2: Add Required Language to Your Existing Policy

If your website already has a privacy policy, insert the following text wherever you talk about sharing data:

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates, both internal and external. For more information about our SMS campaigns, you can text HELP. If you wish to be removed from future communications, you can opt out by texting STOP. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Option 3: Use a Standalone SMS Privacy Policy

No privacy policy yet? Use this template:

SMS Privacy Policy
Last Updated: [Insert Date]

This policy explains how [Insert Your Legal Business Name] collects and uses personal information from SMS subscribers.

Key points:

  • We may collect your name, mobile number, location, and other info you provide

  • This data is used only for SMS purposes

  • We don’t sell or rent your data

  • Employees and service providers must keep this info confidential

  • You’ll only receive messages related to what you opted into

  • Text HELP for info or STOP to opt out anytime

Policy Updates:
We’ll post changes on this page. Continued use of our service means you accept any updates.

Once published, link your policy in the website footer as SMS Privacy Policy.
