Transferring Data to Text Groove

Overview

Starting a new Text Groove account? If you're bringing data with you from a previous platform, we can help. Whether it's a list of subscribers, contacts, or team members, you can import all of it into Text Groove.

Importing a Text Club

If you're moving an existing Text Club (subscriber list) to Text Groove, it must meet the following criteria:

• The contacts must have opted in to receive ongoing messages from your brand.
  
  

• The list must have received a text within the past 12 months to be considered active.
  
  

• Contest entries alone do not count as consent for future messages.
  
  

If your list meets these rules, we can import it for you.

Changing Phone Numbers?

If your Text Club is switching numbers (for example, from 86753 to 555-867-5309), you’ll need to:

1. Send a message from your old number notifying subscribers of the change.
   
   

2. Give subscribers a chance to opt out.
   
   

3. Wait three days after that message is sent before we import the list.
   
   

Example Timeline:

• November 28:
   You send this message from your old number:
   "[Text Club Name/Station Name]: Our number is changing. Messages will now be sent from [new phone number]. To opt-out, text stop."
  
  

• December 1:
   You switch to Text Groove and send your first message from the new number.
  
  

Once the switch is complete, fill out the form to create your new Text Club.

Importing Contacts

If you have a contact list you'd like to import, just send us a CSV file with the contact details.
 Email it to support@textgroove.com and we’ll take care of the rest.

Importing Users

Want us to pre-load your team into your Text Groove account?

Send us the following:

• First and last names
  
  

• Work email addresses
  
  

• Whether each person should be added as an Admin or a User
