Getting Started with Text Groove

Overview

You’re ready to launch with Text Groove. This guide helps you get up and running, from confirming your timeline to activating your number. We’ll walk you through the process based on your number type (10DLC, Toll-Free, or Short Code).




Step 1: Coordinate Timing with Text Groove

Before cancelling with your current provider, talk to us first. The right timing depends on your number type or whether you're activating a new number. We’ll help you avoid any service interruptions.

If you’re transferring contacts or message history, request your data export before closing your old account. Once you have it, send it to support@textgroove.com.




Step 2: Open an Onboarding Ticket

Send an email to support@textgroove.com with the subject line Onboarding Request. Include:

  • Phone numbers to be activated

  • Station call letters and physical address

  • Desired activation date

  • Name and email of the signing authority

  • Billing contact email

  • Completed 10DLC registration form (only one form per market)

Once we receive this, we’ll begin your paperwork and account setup.




Step 3: Complete Required Setup

  • Confirm Your Info: Review your onboarding email and verify everything.

  • Sign the LOA: This allows us to activate messaging for your number.

  • Fill Out the 10DLC Form: Ensure it's accurate to avoid delays.

  • Update Your Privacy Policy:

    • Link it clearly on your homepage.

    • State that SMS data won’t be shared for marketing.

    • Include opt-out instructions.

Suggested wording:

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates, both internal and external. If you wish to be removed from receiving future communications, you can opt out by texting STOP.

Step 4: Schedule Training (Optional)

Step 5: Wait for Carrier Approval

For 10DLC (Local Numbers):

  • Brand Registration

  • Brand Vetting

  • Scoring

  • Campaign Registration

  • Vetting by Aggregators or carriers

Estimated timeline: Up to 3 weeks

For Toll-Free Numbers:

  • Add a short notice on your Contact Us page

  • We submit a Toll-Free Verification Brief

Estimated timeline: 5 business days

For Short Codes:

  • Carriers and CTIA conduct extensive vetting

Estimated timeline: Up to 6 weeks




Final Step: You’re Live

We’ll notify you as soon as your number is approved and activated. You’re ready to text!
